For all the latest news from in and around Bolton, sign up for the free MyBolton newsletterPenthouses at a former mill are to have ‘combustible’ cladding stripped out and replaced.The exterior cladding, installed at the Cottonworks complex, also known as Holden Mill, Blackburn Road, Sharples has now been deemed unsafe.Earlier this month, a planning application was lodged with Bolton council concerning the work, with the heritage of the building needing to be considered as the former mill is a Grade II-listed building.With the planning documents is a heritage statement prepared by Paul Butler Associates on behalf of the building’s owners, Recom Solutions Ltd.The statement says the issue largely relates to an extensions built on upper floors.
