She knows from her younger years what it is like to be young and out of work and this is clearly something that drives her.Jackie continued: “When I was a teenager I spent a few years in and out of jobs and a lot of time unemployed so it is very close to my heart to make sure young people have got plenty opportunities.“Through my adult working life, I have had different jobs that have involved supporting young people who are unemployed.“I think colleges are absolutely central to supporting young people and am really resistant to people talking about lost generations."I think it is really important that we don’t do that, young people need to have hope.”West Lothian College were looking at ways to help young people in the community left.
