Kaleb Cooper, 24, plays an advisory role to Jeremy Clarkson on his hit Amazon Prime show Clarkson's Farm - but when it emerged he had failed to win a single gong at the NTAs, the devastated looking reality star declared he'd rather be back in a field.
Accustomed to the Cotswolds and working in farming since his school days, Kaleb had traded in the countryside for a night of glitz and glamour at the ceremony, but looked thoroughly relieved to be going back home. "Get me home," he yelled repeatedly in a video published to his 1.1 million Instagram followers, urging his guest to "go, go, go, go, go!"The star, whose book The World According To Cooper was released yesterday to coincide with the awards bash, then captioned a photo with a tractor emoji, quipping: "Get me back in the middle of a field!"It has been less than 18 months since Kaleb first exploded onto the entertainment scene, with the first series of Clarkson's Farm hitting Amazon back in June 2021.Meanwhile, just weeks ago, the Chipping Norton local hadn't even known what the NTAs were, jokingly quipping he'd expected he was getting a nod at the National Tractor Awards instead. However, the ceremony, which is regularly branded TV's "biggest night of the year", had nominated Clarkson's Farm in the Factual Entertainment category, placing the show head to head with the likes of Dame Prue Leith's Great British Bake Off.Meanwhile, Kaleb was lauded in the "expert" category for his farming knowledge, meaning he'd been in the running for multiple awards."I got really excited about taking my tractor - unfortunately, I can't do that," he had joked in a thrilled Instagram message at the time."Clarkson's Farm and myself [are] in the 'Expert' category next to Sir David.
