Liz Truss announced her resignation as the UK's prime minister on Thursday after just 54 days on the job. Jeremy Clarkson has since branded the Conservative leader a "nightmare" but is admittedly confused by the electorate's reaction.Speaking out in his latest column for The Sun, the former Top Gear presenter admitted he was shocked by Brits fury at Ms Truss' manifesto on taxation.The prime minister, who has since quit her role, pledged to cut taxes but was forced to make a drastic U-turn after sparking an economic downturn, and ultimately was forced to sack chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng.Jeremy, 62, has since claimed he thought Britons would be rushing off to the pub to celebrate the tax cut announcements."But they didn’t.
Instead, everyone went nuts," he wrote.
