The owner of a well-known Ramsbottom chippy has been left “devastated beyond belief” after a fire tore through the shop. The Village Chippy in Stubbins had only been open four weeks when a fire broke out at around 6pm on Friday, May 22.
It is believed the blaze was caused by an electrical fault. The shop had been extremely popular with socially-distanced customers prior to the incident.
But owner Lisa Davies the damage from the fire is “vast” and it could be “some time” before the chippy is able to reopen.
