China has built a life-sized robot with recycled weaponry to accompany its soldiers on a peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. State-owned news outlet CCTV posted footage of the robot, named as a "blue helmet warrior" after the coloured hats synonymous with United Nations peacekeepers, on their programme devoted to the People's Liberation Army.
The 10-foot high machine bears a resemblance to Hollywood blockbuster Transformer using old machine parts from abandoned vehicles and CPUs from old computers.
On the profile, the "blue helmet warrior" has a combat power rating of "10 stars" and is equipped with heavy machinery such as a double-barrelled shotgun, a flamethrower, grenades and a drill.
