The item was one of 450 items for bidding by Propstore, a memorabilia company, at its Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction in Los Angeles.

According to the item’s official description, the photo-matched bowcaster prop was used in every film of the original “Star Wars” trilogy, with restored dressing components.

It was estimated to fetch $300,000 to $600,000. Chewbacca’s signature bowcaster served as his primary weapon in “Star Wars: A New Hope,” “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.” Other items up for bidding included the ghost catcher and pedal from “Ghostbusters,” which sold for $327,600, while Conan’s (Arnold Schwarzenegger) Atlantean Sword from “Conan the Barbarian” — along with four behind-the-scenes photos — sold for $176,400.
