Cash to boost play parks

Get the latest West Lothian Courier news and sport sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletterAn additional £184,000 is set to be invested towards the refurbishment of play areas across West Lothian.The sum represents West Lothian’s allocation of a £5million fund for play areas from the Scottish Government for the financial year 2021/22.West Lothian currently has approximately 300 play facilities, featuring in excess of 1700 individual items of equipment.

The money will be added to the current budget of £509,000 for 2021/22 for planned, play area refurbishments across West Lothian as part of the councils’ Capital Investment Programme.
