Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Carole Baskin Is Being Sued By Missing Husband Don Lewis's Family

Don Lewis‘s family is taking Carole Baskin to court. TMZ reports that the animal activist, and current Dancing With The Stars contestant, is being sued by Don‘s daughters, Gale, Lynda and Donna, for defamation after watching her make jokes about his mysterious disappearance.

The legal docs, filed by the daughters and Don‘s former assistant Anne McQueen, state that Carole was “complicit with jokes about Don’s death on Dancing With The Stars, when judges brought up TikTok videos inspired by her storyline in Tiger King.” Anne says that instead of participating in the jokes, Carole should have said something to stop them. Don‘s family is also accusing Carole of being complicit with jokes about Don during her interview on Good Morning America
