Car torched in Lanarkshire street as cops probe deliberate fire

Police are probing a late-night fire incident after a car was torched in a Lanarkshire street. Shocked residents in Stonehouse woke up to see a car completely burnt out on Friday morning, November 11.

The incident happened on Marleyhill Avenue in the village at around 12.10am.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

One concerned Stonehouse resident told Lanarkshire Live : "It's worrying that something like this can happen in your own street. "It's a quiet road and there's never any problems so it's quite concerning."Hopefully the police find out what happened as soon as possible."Enquiries are currently ongoing into the incident but police say they are treating the fire as deliberate.
