KX (pronounced ‘kicks’) - the £615-a-month private members’ gym and spa which is notoriously tight-lipped about its clients, although I do hear there are some very famous members - invited me to be the first to try its new ‘Red Fit Lab’.
I am ushered into a simple, mirrored room [pictured top]: there’s a Wattbike and a yoga mat, and nine light blocks are fitted to the ceiling.
When switched on, they shine red and give off heat that after 15-or-so minutes feels like a Greek beach approaching midday. The facility is said to be the first of its kind in London and allows members to combine photobiomodulation therapy (PBM) with exercise.
