Cambuslang was left with no banking facilities after three branches and free-to-use ATMs closed in quick succession three years ago.
It’s hoped the involvement in the pilot will encourage more consumers to shop locally and aid the town’s economy recover from the devastating impact of COVID-19 on businesses.As part of the initiative, the Cambuslang community will be working with the banking industry to identify sustainable solutions to keeping cash viable for individuals and businesses.Over the coming months, the CACP team will also engage with Cambuslang Community Council to fully understand the needs and challenges consumers and retailers face around cash, while exploring and delivering a range of workable solutions and ensuring everyone.
