A fan of Britney Spears says she believes that doctors are being paid money to give the US pop star medication that treats dementia.

In a new BBC documentary called The Battle for Britney: Fans, Cash and a Conservatorship, journalist Mobeen Azhar travels to Los Angeles to delve deeper into the drama surrounding Britney's conservatorship.

As part of his investigation, Mobeen speaks to some hardcore fans who are part of the #FreeBritney campaign and want the star to regain her "human and civil rights".

One woman in particular, named Hayley Herms, who has been campaigning against the conservatorship for most of her adult life told him: "I love her, she's like my mum. "To me it's like Britney is in jail.
