Lloyds, Natwest and digital bank Starling have been the biggest current account winners of the year so far, with customers switching and ditching in search of better service.
The top three lenders were followed by Clydesdale, Monzo and Triodos as customers shunned some of the biggest names in the market for smaller, lesser known alternatives.
That’s according to the latest Current Account Switch Service (CASS) report, which recorded the number of people who have quit their provider in the past quarter.
Overall, it said the number of people moving away fell in the first three months of 2021. A total of 137,976 switches took place – marking a fall of 51,297 in the final quarter of 2020.
