Brentford youth team players were once spat at by fans and had objects thrown at them after being asked by the club to model a unique new kit around Griffin Park.

The kit was due to go on sale at the final game of the 1998/99 season against Luton Town and was shown off before an earlier clash against York City.

Flagged by Tim Street to The Guardian back in 2018, fans were asked to give their support for the new strip as youth-team players were sent on a lap of the pitch. Do you remember the worst kit your team have ever worn?

Tell us in the comments section below. Replying to a Twitter comment about the kit back in 2020, Dobson wrote: "Yes, I remember it well."The kit didn't go down well and we had objects thrown at us and even spat at.
