Police have arrested a second teenage boy in connection with the fatal stabbing of 14-year-old Nathaniel Shani. The schoolboy died following an incident at Tavistock Square, in Harpurhey, yesterday evening (September 15).
Emergency services were called out to the scene at around 6.05pm. Nathaniel was rushed to hospital after being treated by paramedics, but he later died from his injuries.
Officers arrested a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of murder shortly after the incident yesterday. In an update this afternoon (Saturday), Greater Manchester Police has confirmed a second boy - aged 13 - has also been arrested on suspicion of murder. Members of the community have been in grief today, with flowers and tributes left at the scene by those who knew Nathaniel. In a tribute, his family said: "Nathaniel was a best friend to many, he never failed to make people laugh.
