A seven-year-old boy has been left in a critical condition after being hit by car and dragged under before hero locals freed him.

Paramedics rushed to Laxton Grove in Yardley, Birmingham, after receiving 999 calls at 6.56pm on Wednesday, July 29. Two ambulances, two paramedic officers and a trauma doctor were sent to the scene.

The boy was trapped underneath the car and people at the scene helped paramedics and police lift up the vehicle to release him.

The boy was transported by ambulance to  Birmingham Children's Hospital  with his condition described as 'critical.' A West Midlands Ambulance Service  spokeswoman said: “Ambulance crews arrived to find a boy who was seriously injured following a collision with a car. "Staff worked
