A 13-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being 'attacked with hammer by a gang of youths' near a residential street. Police rushed to reports that a teenager had been assaulted with a hammer by a group in Eccles at around 6pm on May 24.
Paramedics remained at the scene for almost an hour and the boy had to been taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
No arrests have yet been made but police are making enquiries into the incident. Officers have appealed for any information that may help their investigation.
