Boxing Day power cuts hit hundreds of homes across Greater Manchester

Hundreds of Greater Manchester residents have been without power this Boxing Day morning. More than 600 homes and businesses are currently without electricity in parts of Wigan and Stockport.

And power has recently been restored to hundreds more in dozens of postcodes across Rochdale. The power cut was first reported at 7.45am today (December 26), with 43 different WA3 postcodes hit by the shortage, as well as two in WN4.
