It's that time of year again when the skies above Oldham will sparkle with fireworks. Many parks, pubs, clubs and community centres around Oldham will be hosting their own annual bonfire and firework display in commemoration of the failed November 5 gunpowder plot.
This plot was carried out by Guy Fawkes and was an attempt to blow up the House of Lords and kill King James I. This tradition has gone down in British history and has become its own holiday filled with bonfires and fireworks. There are plenty of displays taking place in Oldham this year
