The 27-year-old has signed a two-year deal at the University of Bolton Stadium and was previously at Barrow, where he made more than 190 appearances during his five years at the club.
He played under Evatt when the Wanderers boss was in charge at Holker Street and has now linked up with his old boss at the Trotters.
