Hart has been appointed to the Wanderers role and is back in football after leaving the same position at Premier League side Burnley earlier this year.
He hails from nearby Rochdale and spent seven years at Turf Moor, before leaving amicably in March following the club's takeover by ALK consortium under new chairman Alan Pace.
