Google searches for 'energy-saving tips' have surged by 125 percent in the past week, highlighting the growing demand for cost-effective energy solutions to stay warm and save money this winter.

One boiler hack is going viral with the belief that cranking your boiler up to 29 degrees will make heat your home faster than if it was at a lower temperature, with couples, housemates and families chiming in on the hack.

One TikTok couple shared the hack with a trending sound, and the video has now amassed more than 800,000 views. People immediately took to the comments, with one saying: “I set mine to the highest and then just open a window when it’s too much”.
