A major roadworks project near Manchester city centre is set to take place over the next eight months. Manchester council's Northeast Gateway scheme begins today (February 3), with the work expected to last until October.
The significant project includes will see more than a dozen changes being made in the Rochdale Road and Oldham Road area, near Ancoats and the inner ring road.
New cycleways and crossings will be introduced as part of the scheme, including two CYCLOPS junctions which separate cyclists from other vehicles.
A number of bus stops are also being moved, while some parking spaces will be taken away and one street will be closed off to traffic.
