BBC Gavin and Stacey viewers are asking the same question as beloved character missing from show

After five years of waiting, Gavin and Stacey returned to our TV screens with a Christmas special this evening. The hit BBC sitcoms follows the lives of two families from Essex and Wales.

After bringing laughter to our screens over the years, the final episode of the show aired tonight (December 25). The episode welcomed back all of the regular favourites to piece together all the questions carried over from the last Christmas special in 2019.

The show began with a wedding discussion from Gavin and Stacey but fans were shocked to find out the wedding was not for Nessa and Smithy, after her proposal back in 2019, but instead for Smithy and girlfriend Sonia.

The revelation led to one viewer announcing she was "turning off", the Liverpool ECHO reports. After a party in Pam and Mick's house before the stag do took place friends and family of James Corden's character joined the Essex gang.
