The long weekend is set to be a wet one, as Scotland is to be hit by heavy rain and thunder.A yellow thunderstorm warning is in place on Sunday, April 30 beginning at midday and lasting until early tonight.
According to the Met Office, "heavy rain" will start over Northern Ireland before spreading to the south of the country. Some places could see up to 35mm of rainfall and possible hail, with forecasters warning of "likely" flooding, affected roads, short term power loss and public transport delays.
However, conditions are to clear up by tonight, but northern areas will then see overnight showers.Buildings could face possible damage from flood waters, while road spray and standing water may lead to longer journey times.
Scots are being urged to plan ahead before travelling, as delays to train services are also likely.Meanwhile, temporary outages could impact Wifi and other electric services.
