Scots police tasered an 11-year-old boy brandishing a knife at a popular Scots holiday resort.The weapon was discharged during a incident where the youngster held a knife up to police, during a stand-off at Craig Tara, near Ayr.Footage seen online shows the schoolboy clutching a blade before being electrocuted with the 50,000-volt stun gun.
The incident is now being investigated by the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) who probe complaints made against Scots cops.The shocking episode took place on March 22, amid reports of the youth brandishing a blade.
In the footage, around five police officers are seen approaching the child in a stand-off, as he appears to wave the weapon at them.He then has two laser targets shone onto his chest while being backed into a corner.
An officer appears to be filming the incident on his own phone.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers attended a disturbance involving an 11-year-old boy in possession of a knife at Craig Tara Caravan Park near Ayr around 11.15pm on Wednesday, March 22.“The incident was resolved with no serious injuries.
