The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms for parts of Greater Manchester today. The alert comes into place at 1pm and will last until 8pm.
Forecasters predict heavy showers and thunderstorms are 'likely to cause some disruption to travel'. Tricky driving conditions are predicted, as well as delays to trains.

The showers are forecast to be persistent in some areas, lasting throughout the afternoon. Some areas will also be hit by thunder and lightning.
