Police teams out on patrol in the Pendleton area spotted a man linked to drug dealing leaving a property in Cherry Tree Court, a block of apartments off Churchill Way.
The suspect was chased by officers before he discarded 19 small bags of Class A drugs. They were later recovered by police and seized.
An investigation is underway into the incident, with Greater Manchester Police now issuing an appeal for information around criminality in the area.
