A gun was discovered by police in a park in Salford. Officers made the shocking find at Ivy Street park in Eccles earlier today.
Greater Manchester Police said the firearm was 'made safe at the scene'. Residents reported seeing forensics officers working in the area this afternoon (Feb 8).
The force said officers and a canine unit were deployed to search for any other 'concerning items', but that no further discoveries were made.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Police attended Ivy Park in Salford this afternoon (Saturday 8 February 2025) and recovered a firearm, which has been made safe at the scene.
