A new coffee shop has opened its doors within one of Manchester's most historic buildings. CoffeeLab has taken up residence inside Colwyn Chambers on the corner of York Street and Mosley Street.
Billed as the first street cafe chain to fully embrace the 3rd wave coffee concept, the award-winning chain was established in Chalkida in Greece in 2009 and has gone on to open more than 100 shops globally.
The brand describes each of its shops as laboratories where coffee preparation is executed with 'meticulous precision'. Colwyn Chambers was built in 1898 and began life as the Merchantile Bank designed by J.
Gibbons Sankey. This Portland Stone building has a Grade II-listed status and the ground floor unit has previously been home to a Tony & Guy hairdressers, amongst other shops and businesses.
