Avonmouth explosion: Multiple casualties at warehouse with crews 'looking for people'

There have been multiple casualties after a large explosion at a warehouse near Bristol. Emergency services were called to the scene in Avonmouth, a port area to the north west of the city, at around 11.20am and are still looking for people.

Eye-witnesses reported ‘at least ten ambulances’ rushing to what has been described as a serious incident. The fire service told Bristol Live there have been multiple casualties, but were unable to give more information at this point.

Witness Jawad Burhan took a photo showing a tank that had exploded after the blast. He told the PA news agency there was a "helicopter looking for missing people" and police had closed a nearby road leading up to the building, which he believed was a waste centre. "I
