Asda launches 'controversial' new counter with items for 75p

direct to your inboxWhen it comes to fresh food counters, supermarket giant Asda has pretty much everything.From freshly baked bread, to rotisserie chicken and even pizzas, shoppers are able to get their fresh food fix.And now Asda has announced the addition of a new fresh food counter to one of its stores, and it might be its most controversial yet.The retailer has announced a partnership with vegan concept creator, Kbox Global, to trial a supermarket vegan butcher counter – Veelicious.

Now open at Asda’s Watford store, the counter will be there as a six month trial to coincide with Veganuary. It will have a consistent vegan butcher offering - including facon, bean burgers, and meat-free meatballs, reports the Mirror.
