The Community Shield could see Liverpool and Arsenal field kids and fringe players in the traditional Wembley curtain raiser.
Football Association bosses have confirmed the game will go ahead on Saturday, August 29, between the Premier League champions and FA Cup winners.
But even though both clubs will take part, it is likely they could send out under strength teams because Arsenal will not return to pre-season training until the week beginning August 17 while Liverpool face losing big name players to international duty the following week.
The Reds return to their Melwood training ground to commence preparations for the 2020/21 season on August 15. Liverpool and Arsenal have both won the Community Shield 15 times - most recently in 2006
