Police have made an arrest following an armed incident at a north Manchester shopping park. Armed officers were scrambled to Manchester Fort on Wednesday (December 8) afternoon following reports of a man with a ‘suspected firearm’.
When emergency crews attended they found that the male had fled the scene. A 24-year-old man was arrested this morning in the Cheetham Hill area of the city.
He remains in custody for questioning on suspicion of possession of a firearm. A number of officers and police vehicles were seen at Manchester Fort, off Cheetham Hill Road, following the incident on Wednesday.
Officers remained at the scene throughout the afternoon and evening. Three police cars could be seen parked near to the Asda Living, Mothercare
