Arctic blast shakes UK this weekend as 'warnings' in place for Queen's coffin queuing

Temperatures are expected to drop over the weekend, with mourners in the capital advised that the UK is set to see "some of the coldest nights for quite a while."Queues to visit the Queen's coffin in Westminster Hall are reported to have around a 12-14 hour wait time, with the public queuing outdoors as they wait through the night.The Queen's resting place is open 24 hours a day, until 6:30am on Monday, the day of her funeral.READ MORE: Man tackled by police officers and arrested after making a run to the Queen's coffinOver the weekend, daytime temperatures will typically be between 16C and 17C degrees, whereas the mercury will plummet to lows of 6C overnight.Met Office forecaster Dan Stroud told the MailOnline: "There will be a chilly start to Saturday morning but by the afternoon it will reach 18C."On Saturday night into Sunday temperatures will lower into 6 or 7C - another chilly night."Sunday will see cloudier conditions around London but temperatures will still reach 18C in the day."The forecaster advised that temperatures during Sunday night into Monday would drop to 8C, with winds of up to 15mph.Mourners have been advised to wrap up warm if heading to London to pay their respects, with the Met Office tweeted: "If you are planning to attend Her Majesty The Queen's Lying-in-State or State Funeral in London please be prepared for the weather, particularly the cool evenings."For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here.The Government have also issued a warning for people to dress for all weather occasions, and for them to bring their own food and drinks.
