Anya Taylor-Joy to bring 'unputdownable' crime novel to life as lead in new TV series

Anya Taylor-Joy, acclaimed for her performance in The Queen's Gambit, is set to bring another bestselling novel to the small screen.

Following her roles in The Menu and Furiosa, Taylor-Joy has now joined an Apple TV+ series as both leading actress and executive producer, adapting Marissa Stapley's 2021 hit book Lucky.

The New York Times bestseller, made even more popular when it was chosen for Reese's Book Club, will see Taylor-Joy playing Lucky Armstrong, a woman trying to leave her criminal past but forced to confront it one last time.

Reese Witherspoon's production company Hello Sunshine is also involved, with Witherspoon herself taking on an executive producer role, reflecting her dedication to bringing female-driven narratives to a wider audience.
