Coronation Street fans say 'bring him back' as they demand new addition to Carla and Lisa storyline

Coronation Street fans have demanded a new adittion to Carla Connor and Lisa Swain's romance storyline after their relationship was almost derailed by another stumbling block.

Fans spent months willing there to be a new relationship between the two characters, played by Alison King and Vicky Myers, which first started earlier this year when Carla became a listening ear for the stressed-out detective as she managed her teenage daughter and the missing Lauren Bolton case.

Carla quickly became a good friend to Lisa until a charged moment between the pair in October suggested there was more to their feelings.

It was then in November that, after some advice from Ryan Connor, Carla headed back to her flat where she found Lisa getting dressed after spending the night on the sofa following a drunken night in the Rovers Return.
