Manchester United transfer target Antony has cooled speculation that he could be heading to Old Trafford this summer after making his return to training with Ajax.
The Brazilian sent rumours of a potential reunion with Erik ten Hag into overdrive after he seemingly missed the Eredivisie champions’ first day of pre-season training on Friday.
New manager Alfred Schreuder took charge of his first session after replacing Ten Hag, but there was no sign of Antony. Having not been involved in Brazil’s recent internationals, the 22-year-old would have been expected to return as Ajax prepare for the defence of their title.
Fellow United target Jurrien Timber was also absent on the first day but is likely on an extended break after being involved with the Netherlands earlier this month.
