Though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be in charge for Manchester United’s next Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur, speculation continues to mount surrounding his future.
Last Sunday’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool was described by Solskjaer as the club hitting “rock bottom”, and he faces a monumental task to turn things around.
Another defeat to Tottenham or Manchester City next week and the former United striker may be out of a job. One manager touted to replace the Norwegian is Antonio Conte.
The MEN understands that while Conte would be open to stepping in during the season, some of the United board are “not keen” on the Italian taking over.
