American adventure awaits talented Perthshire golfer Cormac Sharpe at University of Minnesota

Budding talent Cormac Sharpe is already looking forward to testing himself against the best on the other side of the pond.The young Perthshire amateur will next year join the University of Minnesota to mix a high-class golf environment with his studies.Cormac (17), a Blairgowrie Golf Club star, is a member of Scotland’s national high performance squad and has continued to go from strength to strength.

Now he hopes the move to America will take his game to the next level.“The university contacted my coach first and we did a few Zoom calls,” Cormac told the PA this week.“I was shown the facilities and then signed for them.“The team is strong and play in one of the big leagues, so I thought it was where I wanted to go.“It’s Division One, that
