Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

AMANDA Holden has revealed she feared Simon Cowell was going to die from his horror accident. ITV insiders believe Simon will miss the BGT final after breaking his back falling off his electric bike.

Amanda said: “I honestly panicked it could be fatal. "It was gut-wrenching. I got a text in the night. I couldn’t sleep after. “I felt physically sick as I didn’t know how bad it was. “I wanted him to be alive, but I also wanted him to be able to walk as he’s such a good friend.” Simon has had rods inserted in his back and an ITV source said: “He will not return to the panel in time for the final.
