Daily Star's biggest headlines straight to your inbox!Irish-bred British-trained Thoroughbred Altior has been retired after a glittering career that included 19 consecutive victories and triumphs across 11 major races.Bred in Ireland by Paddy Behan, Altior was born back in 2010 and auctioned three-years later at the Goffs National Hunt sale.Bought for €60,000 by Highflyer Bloodstock, Altior later entered the ownership of Patricia Pugh before being trained by Nicky Henderson.Notably back in 2019, Altior equalled the world record of consecutive jump race wins with a second victory in the Queen Mother Champion Chase, going on to break that record at the Celebration Chase at Sandown at the age of nine.
