More than a third of seats are up for grabs when the polls open on Thursday, May 6. Candidates will stand in votes across 20 areas of the borough, with the Conservatives, Labour and the Liberal Democrats putting up one prospective councillor for each seat.
There are a total of 60 seats on Bolton council, with Labour holding 18 and the Conservatives 17. But, because of an agreement made between all the other parties in the borough except Labour, the Conservatives currently control the council.
