More than 200 candidates are competing for residents’ votes in this years’ local elections in Oldham – which sees every seat up for grabs.
Following a review by the Boundary Commission for England, every council seat in the chamber is up for election, with three council roles being contested in each of the borough’s 20 wards.
It is the first all-out election to be held in Oldham since 2004. Currently the town hall is made up of 35 Labour members, nine Conservatives, nine Liberal Democrats, five Failsworth Independent Party members and two independents.
The all-out election will likely prove to be more dramatic than previous years, in which just a third of the council seats went to the ballot box.
