Post Office warning for anyone voting in the local elections this May

The Post Office has issued a warning to anyone who is planning to vote at the local elections next month. Following a rule change, everyone wanting to vote will have to show photo identification at the polling station.

Now, with just weeks to go, the Post Office is urging everyone to plan for the new requirement as soon as possible. Voters are being told to consider whether there is enough time for a new passport or driver’s licence to be returned to them if they are intending to use it as their photo ID in order to vote at the elections on May 4.
