Alan Shearer has opened up on the time Roy Keane waited for him in the tunnel after the then-Manchester United star was sent off following a bust-up with the striker.
Shearer was playing for Newcastle in 2001 when they were 4-3 up against Keane’ United. Following Shearer interfering with Keane’s attempt to take a quick throw in as the Red Devils chased the game, the Irishman did not react well.
Keane appeared to throw a punch towards Shearer with the midfielder shown his marching orders, but that wasn’t the end of it. “Yeah, I didn't like him [Keane],” Shearer said on the Match of the Day podcast. “I had loads of rucks with him and I wasn't the only one.
