A busy Lancashire A-road is closed to traffic tonight (Sunday, February 2). The A59 Longsight Road is shut in both directions between Northcote Roundabout and Chapel Lane near Langho.
The closure was first reported at around 8.45pm. Two vehicles are understood to be involved, however it is currently unclear what type of vehicles and whether anyone has been injured.
The road is a key route between Preston and Clitheroe. Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "A59 Longsight Road in both directions closed due to accident, two vehicles involved from A666 Whalley New Road (Northcote roundabout) to Chapel Lane." No other incidents are currently reported on the road networks in Lancashire or Greater Manchester on Sunday evening.
However major roads are closed due to incidents elsewhere in England. The A379 is closed following a crash in Exeter, that closure has been been in place since shortly before 5pm today.
