It was a big night for Manchester earlier this week when it was announced that the city was now the proud home of its second Michelin star.
Given to restaurants and venues at the height of their game, the prestigious award was handed to Tom Barnes’ beloved Skof, on Federation Street in the city centre, on Monday night (February 10).
The restaurant, which serves an ‘unpretentious yet ambitious’ menu, opened in May last year and joins mana, in Ancoats, which is led by chef Simon Martin and has held on to its Michelin star since first being awarded in 2019.
Whilst it might be difficult to make a reservation for the next couple of weeks due to their heightened acclaim, there are plenty of restaurants close to Manchester that have also received praise from Michelin.
