A Trump Administration Decision Might Mean Americans Will Be Waiting Even Longer for the Pfizer Vaccine

A new report in the New York Times claims that the Trump administration passed on an offer from Pfizer to receive more doses of their vaccine.

Now, the company may not be able to make additional doses available until June 2021. The U.S. government ordered 100 million doses of the vaccine that is being produced by Pfizer and German partner BioNTech.

The treatment needs two doses, so that means only 50 million Americans can be vaccinated by that supply. It’s expected that the Pfizer vaccine, along with the Moderna vaccine, will be approved for emergency use as soon as this weekend.
